Highland County voters can cast an early in-person ballot this week at the Highland County Board of Elections in Hillsboro for the November 3, 2026 general election. The board lists early voting at the Hi-Tech Center, 1575 North High Street, Suite 200, in Hillsboro. For Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23, the hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, according to the board’s published schedule for the general election.
The same hours are listed in the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule. Early in-person voting in Ohio began on October 6, and the Secretary of State’s schedule shows 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours for October 6 to 9, October 12 to 16 and October 19 to 23, with no evening hours until the final week.
Hours expand after this week. The board lists Saturday, October 24 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday, October 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Tuesday, October 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Voting then runs from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Wednesday, October 28 through Friday, October 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, the last day of early in-person voting.
Voters who prefer to vote by mail can still request an absentee ballot. The Secretary of State’s schedule says absentee ballot applications must be received by the board of elections by 8:30 p.m. on October 27. The Highland County board says voters can obtain an application on its website, request one by email, or call the office to ask for an application to be mailed to them, and completed applications are returned to the board at the North High Street address in Hillsboro.
Before going to vote, residents can check their voter registration and view a sample ballot through the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter tools, which the Secretary of State links from its elections pages. That allows a voter to see the ballot for their own registration before arriving at the board office. Voters with questions about early voting or an absentee application can call the Highland County Board of Elections at (937) 393-9961, the number listed by the board.
On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, polls in Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., according to the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State also notes that non-military and overseas absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. Early in-person voting at the board office ends on November 1, before Election Day voting at polling places begins.
No turnout figures for Highland County were included in the board or Secretary of State information reviewed for this update, and none are reported here. The board’s published information for the week is the location in Hillsboro, the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekday hours, and the extended schedule that follows in the final days before November 3.
