The Cincinnati Bengals scored 35 unanswered points in the second half on Sunday to beat the Baltimore Ravens 35-13 at M&T Bank Stadium, turning a scoreless first half into one of the biggest comeback wins in franchise history. Cincinnati trailed 13-0 at halftime after being outgained 258-59, then scored touchdowns on five consecutive possessions after the break.
Joe Burrow finished 22 of 30 for 292 yards and four touchdowns, doing almost all of that damage in the second half, when he completed 16 of 18 passes for 249 yards. His 6-yard touchdown pass to Mike Gesicki got Cincinnati on the board early in the third quarter, and a 13-yard strike to Tee Higgins less than five minutes later gave the Bengals a 14-13 lead they never gave back.
Samaje Perine added a 1-yard touchdown run after Baltimore failed on a fourth-down try deep in its own territory, Burrow found Ja’Marr Chase on a 2-yard score midway through the fourth quarter, and a 16-yard touchdown pass to Drew Sample, set up by an interception of Tyler Huntley, closed out the 35-point half. The Bengals became just the 10th team in NFL history to score 35 or more points after being shut out in the first half.
Higgins caught six passes for 148 yards and a touchdown, while Chase finished with five receptions for 62 yards and a score. Gesicki’s touchdown was his fourth straight game with a scoring catch, the longest streak of his career, according to the Bengals.
Huntley, starting again with Lamar Jackson sidelined by an ankle injury for a third straight game, completed 23 of 34 passes for a career-high 298 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Zay Flowers had eight catches for 137 yards and a score for Baltimore, but the Ravens, who converted 8 of 11 third downs in the first half, did not convert another until the final minute of the game.
Cincinnati’s defense recorded four sacks, including two by Boye Mafe, who raised his team-leading total to five, and the Bengals have now registered multiple sacks in all six games this season. On the injury front, Bengals tight end Erick All (knee) and safety Kyle Dugger (quad) were ruled out during the game, and Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith left early in the fourth quarter with a knee issue.
The win lifts Cincinnati to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the AFC North, while Baltimore falls to 4-3 after being outscored 48-0 across its last two second halves. The Bengals return home to host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Nov. 1, at Paycor Stadium, while the Ravens travel to Buffalo in Week 8.
