Butler County voters are in the final days of early in-person voting for the Nov. 3 general election, with the county’s early voting site in Hamilton open on the extended final-week schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. Early voting in Ohio began Oct. 6 and concludes Sunday, Nov. 1, before polls open across Butler County on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Early in-person voting in Butler County is held only at the Butler County Board of Elections, at its Princeton Road Campus, 1802 Princeton Road, Suite 600, in Hamilton, according to voter guides published by the League of Women Voters of the Oxford Area and the county’s election information pages. The board’s phone number is 513-887-3700.
Under the statewide early-voting schedule for the final week, hours run 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 26-30, then 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, the last day of early voting. Voters who wait until Election Day must vote at their assigned polling place, not at the board office.
The absentee-by-mail window has now closed for new requests: Ohio’s deadline to request an absentee ballot was Tuesday, Oct. 27. Secretary of State Frank LaRose said on Oct. 27 that it might already be too late to drop ballots in the mail and have them arrive by the Election Day deadline, according to Cleveland.com reporting published by Cincinnati.com and The Columbus Dispatch.
Voters who already hold an absentee ballot can return it in person to the Butler County Board of Elections — at the Princeton Road address in Hamilton listed in the statewide drop-off listings published by Cincinnati.com and The Columbus Dispatch — by 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 3. Ballots should not be returned to a polling place on Election Day.
Butler County’s Nov. 3 ballot includes the statewide races and issues facing all Ohio voters, along with the county, municipal, township and school contests and levies assigned to each voter’s precinct. Voters can check their registration, find their polling place and view their sample ballot at VoteOhio.gov, the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter site.
For Hamilton, Middletown, Fairfield, Oxford and the county’s townships, the practical choice in the final days is simple: vote early at the board office in Hamilton through Sunday afternoon, return an absentee ballot in person by Tuesday evening, or vote at your precinct polling place on Nov. 3 between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
This story is part of NewsForce247’s county-by-county second-pass election coverage, rotating through all 88 Ohio counties ahead of the Nov. 3 general election. Butler County’s first-pass story was published earlier in the rotation; results and certification coverage for the county will follow after the polls close.
