Carroll County voters are in the final days of early in-person voting for the Nov. 3 general election, with early voting available in Carrollton on the extended final-week schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. Early voting in Ohio began Oct. 6 and concludes Sunday, Nov. 1, before polls open across Carroll County on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Early in-person voting in Carroll County is held at the Carroll County Board of Elections in Carrollton. The board’s public pages note it is no longer at the courthouse but at the Carroll County Annex Building at 211 Moody Ave SW, Suite 107, in Carrollton, and its phone number is 330-627-2610.
Under the statewide early-voting schedule for the final week, hours run 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 26-30, then 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, the last day of early voting. Voters who wait until Election Day must vote at their assigned polling place, not at the board office.
The absentee-by-mail window has now closed for new requests: Ohio’s deadline to request an absentee ballot was Tuesday, Oct. 27 — a deadline the Carroll County board flagged in its own Oct. 15 update. Secretary of State Frank LaRose said on Oct. 27 that it might already be too late to drop ballots in the mail and have them arrive by the Election Day deadline, according to Cleveland.com reporting published by Cincinnati.com and The Columbus Dispatch.
Voters who already hold an absentee ballot can return it in person to the Carroll County Board of Elections — at 119 S. Lisbon St., Suite 102, in Carrollton, according to the statewide drop-off listings published by Cincinnati.com and The Columbus Dispatch — by 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 3. Ballots should not be returned to a polling place on Election Day.
Carroll County’s Nov. 3 ballot includes the statewide races and issues facing all Ohio voters, along with the county home levy, a contested judgeship, and the other county, municipal, township and school contests assigned to each voter’s precinct. Voters can check their registration, find their polling place and view their sample ballot at VoteOhio.gov, the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter site, or through the Carroll County board’s page at boe.ohio.gov/carroll.
For Carrollton, Malvern, Minerva and the county’s townships and villages, the practical choice in the final days is simple: vote early at the board office in Carrollton through Sunday afternoon, return an absentee ballot in person by Tuesday evening, or vote at your precinct polling place on Nov. 3 between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
