FINDLAY, Ohio — PGA professionals from across Northwest Ohio turned birdies into dollars for young golfers on Tuesday, Oct. 27, raising more than $18,000 at the 2026 Toledo Chapter Birdies & Charity event at Findlay Country Club, according to OHIO.GOLF.

The money supports junior golf and charitable initiatives throughout the region, according to OHIO.GOLF. Proceeds benefit the Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation, the Toledo Junior Golf Association, the Findlay Amateur Golf Association, and the Lima Junior Golf Association.

Host facility Findlay Country Club led all participating facilities in fundraising with $7,980, spearheaded by PGA Head Professional Jordan Schroeder, according to OHIO.GOLF. Delphos Country Club’s Trevor Thomas followed with $3,510, and Highland Meadows Golf Club contributed $2,070.

Professionals taking part included Matt Urban, Michael Balcar and Steve Shady of Brandywine; Nick Myers of Highland Meadows; Milton Carswell Jr. of Stone Oak; Nick Szymanski of South Toledo; and Jordan Schroeder, Peter Campbell, Julian Pina and Dan St. Jean of Findlay Country Club, according to OHIO.GOLF.

Combined with the Northern Ohio PGA Section’s own Birdies & Charity event held in September, the two events have raised more than $130,000 in 2026, according to OHIO.GOLF.

Donations remain open, OHIO.GOLF reported, so supporters who missed Tuesday’s marathon round can still contribute to the event’s charitable impact for junior golfers across Northwest Ohio.

The Birdies & Charity format has become a signature fundraiser for PGA sections in Ohio: professionals pledge their own scoring, hole after hole, and turn a single long day on the course into support for the next generation of players. Money raised for junior golf associations helps cover tournament access and development programs for young golfers who might otherwise be priced out of competitive play.
