Early in-person voting for the November 3 general election has entered its final days in Brown County, with four sessions left. According to the Ohio Secretary of State’s early voting directory, the site is the Brown County Board of Elections, 9116 Hamer Road, Suite 103, in Georgetown, and the Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule says the final early session ends Sunday, November 1.
The remaining hours run day by day under the Secretary of State’s statewide schedule: Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and the last session on Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The schedule lists no early in-person voting after that Sunday session.
Voters holding an absentee ballot face a receipt deadline, not a mailing deadline. The Secretary of State’s schedule states that non-military and non-overseas absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, while military and overseas ballots must be received by November 7. The request deadline passed on October 27 at 8:30 p.m., so voters still holding a completed ballot can return it in person to the Georgetown board office to be certain it arrives in time.
Anyone who misses the early sessions votes on Election Day. The Secretary of State’s schedule puts the general election on Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Election Day voting happens at each voter’s assigned precinct polling place, not at the board office, and the board’s sample ballot lookup lets voters confirm their precinct and review their exact ballot before they go.
Voters casting a ballot in person must bring an approved photo ID. The Ohio Secretary of State lists the acceptable forms as an unexpired Ohio driver license or state identification card, an interim ID form from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, a U.S. passport or passport card, a U.S. military or military dependent ID card, an Ohio National Guard ID card, or a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card.
The official Brown County sample ballot for Union Township lists the governor’s race among Amy Acton and David Pepper, Vivek Ramaswamy and Robert A. McColley, and Don Kissick and James L. Mills; the U.S. Senate race among Sherrod Brown, Jon Husted, William B. Redpath and Greg Levy; the other statewide offices and two Ohio Supreme Court seats; Justin Pizzulli and Collin Docterman for state representative in the 90th District; and Frank Fussnecker for county commissioner, Jill Hall for county auditor and Steven A. Battaglia for coroner. It also carries statewide Issue 3, a proposed constitutional amendment to require voters to present photo identification in order to vote. Local items vary by precinct, so each voter’s own sample ballot is the complete list.
After early voting closes at 5 p.m. on Sunday, the final chance to vote is at the precinct polls on Tuesday. Voters with questions can contact the Brown County Board of Elections or check the Secretary of State’s voter tools, and results will begin to be reported after the polls close at 7:30 p.m. on November 3.
