A warm, sunny Sunday is giving way to a clear and cool evening across Ohio, with no watches, warnings or advisories in effect and no rain expected tonight, according to the National Weather Service. The 5 p.m. statewide roundup still showed 69 degrees in Toledo, Defiance, Findlay and Lima, 72 in Cincinnati, 69 in Dayton and 67 in Columbus, while readings along Lake Erie had eased into the low to mid-60s. Sunset comes at 6:38 p.m. in Columbus, and temperatures will fall steadily through the 60s and 50s this evening.

Tonight is mostly clear in central Ohio, with an overnight low around 42 in Columbus and light south winds. The northwest turns partly cloudy with lows in the mid-40s — around 44 in the Bowling Green and Perrysburg area — and the National Weather Service puts the chance of precipitation at zero. The northeast is partly cloudy as well, with Akron-area lows around 41, after Cleveland Hopkins read 64 degrees and the lakefront 62 late this afternoon.

In the southwest, the warmest corner of the state this evening, Cincinnati reached 72 degrees, Hamilton 71 and Wilmington 70 under fair skies, and the night stays clear to partly cloudy with calm to light winds. In the southeast and east central counties, Columbus-area readings in the upper 60s fade into a mostly clear night, and unprotected outdoor plans need no weather backup — just a jacket once the sun is down, as lows settle into the 40s statewide.

Monday starts the workweek dry and a touch warmer under mostly sunny skies. Columbus expects a high near 74 with southwest winds around 4 mph, Wilmington a high near 74, and the Toledo area a high near 72 with partly cloudy skies. Akron is sunny with a high near 71. No rain is in Monday’s forecast anywhere in Ohio, with the National Weather Service again holding precipitation chances at or near zero in the north and around 10 percent in central Ohio.

Monday night turns partly cloudy with lows back in the mid- to upper 40s — around 46 in Columbus, 47 in the northwest and 44 in the Akron area. Tuesday stays dry and partly cloudy, with highs near 73 in Columbus and near 68 in the northwest, before clouds increase a bit Tuesday night and lows climb to around 49 in central Ohio.

The extended outlook keeps the quiet pattern going through Halloween week. Wednesday is mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 40s and highs in the lower 70s. Thursday turns partly cloudy with lows in the lower 50s and highs in the upper 70s on southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph. Friday is partly cloudy with lows in the mid-50s and highs in the mid-70s, and Saturday is mostly cloudy with lows in the mid-50s and highs in the lower 70s.

There are no travel or safety impacts in tonight’s forecast — roads are dry statewide, winds stay light, and the only adjustment is dressing for the evening cool-down after a warm afternoon. The clear night also makes for good viewing before clouds return Monday night, and the dry, mild stretch gives Ohioans several more days to finish fall yard work and enjoy peak color before any pattern change arrives.
