Chillicothe’s new Wingstop opens Monday morning, October 26, at 10 a.m. at 950 N. Bridge St., owner Brian Long announced Sunday.

Long posted the announcement on Facebook on Sunday, writing that tomorrow is the big day and the Chillicothe Wingstop opens at 10 a.m., inviting customers to come in on opening day.

The opening comes a week after the date first floated for the store. A hiring notice earlier this month pointed to an October 19 opening while the restaurant staffed up; Long’s Sunday post set Monday as the day.

A photo posted with the announcement shows the finished dining room, with rows of green tables and chairs beneath a wall that reads “Bring the Flavor — Chillicothe.”

Wingstop is a national chain serving cooked-to-order wings, boneless wings, tenders and chicken sandwiches, hand-sauced and tossed in a range of flavors.

The North Bridge Street corridor is Chillicothe’s busiest retail strip, and the new restaurant adds another national dining option for Ross County shoppers and travelers passing through on U.S. 23.

Doors open at 10 a.m. Monday, and the restaurant’s Facebook page is carrying opening updates for customers planning a first visit.

The Bridge Street opening also means new restaurant jobs in Chillicothe: the store spent October hiring and training its crew ahead of the launch, which is why the first floated opening date slipped by a week while staffing was completed.

Ross County diners have watched the Bridge Street corridor add several national chains in recent years, and a cooked-to-order wing shop fills a niche local sports fans have asked about — game-day takeout for high school Fridays and Buckeye Saturdays alike.

Opening-day hours begin at 10 a.m. Monday at 950 N. Bridge St. Customers can follow the Chillicothe Wingstop page on Facebook for any opening-week updates, and the store joins a busy fall for Ross County food news as the holiday season approaches.
