The sweep completed a remarkable Saturday double for the school. Hours earlier, Seton’s undefeated soccer team beat Centerville for a Division I regional title of its own, before the volleyball team did the same to the Elks in the regional final, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Seton was one of several Greater Cincinnati teams to punch a state ticket Saturday. Kings beat Anthony Wayne in straight sets, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22, to return to the Division II state tournament for the first time since winning it all in 2023, and defending champion McNicholas swept Bellbrook 25-17, 25-11, 25-13 to reach the final four for the second straight year, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

Kings’ win came behind Sammi Wehrman, who led the Knights with 18 kills, and Laura Raines, who added 14, while Anabelle Seni handed out 22 assists and Kennedy Horsley recorded 18 digs, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Kings (22-3) has won 19 straight matches and will play Wadsworth or Olmsted Falls in the Division II state semifinals on November 13 at Vandalia Butler. Anthony Wayne, Kings’ opponent Saturday, had reached the state finals in each of the last two seasons, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

Fenwick also advanced, defeating Taylor in three sets in Division IV, while Versailles swept Madeira in the Division V regional final, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

What happens next for Seton is a state semifinal against Olentangy Liberty at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, at Vandalia Butler. Liberty is making its third state tournament appearance since 2018, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. A win would put the Saints in the Division I state final, two wins from a third straight championship.
