The No. 1 Ohio State women’s hockey team hosts No. 8 Colgate this weekend at the OSU Ice Rink in Columbus for a two-game nonconference series. The teams meet at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, and again at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026. The series opens a six-game homestand for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State enters the weekend with a 7-1-0 overall record and a 5-1-0 mark in WCHA play. Colgate arrives unbeaten at 6-0-0 overall, with a 0-0-0 record in ECAC play so far this season. Ohio State is ranked No. 1 for the second straight week, receiving 18 of 20 first-place votes in the USCHO poll.
The Buckeyes are coming off a series split on the road at No. 3 Minnesota. Ohio State lost the opener 6-2 before bouncing back to win the second game 6-5. The Colgate series continues a demanding stretch of the schedule for Ohio State.
This is Ohio State’s third straight top-10 matchup and its fourth top-10 matchup of the season. Facing another ranked opponent at home, the Buckeyes will look to build on the split at Minnesota as the homestand gets underway against an unbeaten Colgate team.
Junior defender Mira Jungåker leads Ohio State with 16 points and 14 assists in eight games. She ranks second nationally in points and leads defenders nationally, averages 1.75 assists per game, and has recorded a point on all but two of the Buckeyes’ power-play goals this season.
Colgate brings strong recent form into Columbus after shutting out Boston University twice last weekend. The Raiders have not allowed that success to be interrupted through six games, setting up a matchup between an unbeaten visitor and the nation’s top-ranked team on its home ice. With two games in two days, both teams will have a quick turnaround between Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
The weekend is Youth Weekend at the OSU Ice Rink. Friday’s game features a trading-card giveaway, while Saturday includes a hat giveaway and the season’s first postgame skate following Saturday’s game. Both games will stream on B1G+, with live stats available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com. After this series, Ohio State remains at home as the six-game homestand continues in Columbus.
