Early in-person voting for the Nov. 3, 2026 general election is underway in Medina County, giving registered voters a chance to cast a ballot ahead of Election Day. Voters can vote early at the Medina County Board of Elections, 3800 Stonegate Drive, Suite C, in Medina. This week, through Friday, Oct. 23, the board is open for early voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The early voting schedule expands in the final days before the election. Voting continues Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., then resumes Monday, Oct. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Wednesday, Oct. 28, through Friday, Oct. 30, followed by Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Early voting wraps up Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m., and that is the final opportunity to vote early in person. There is no early voting on Monday, Nov. 2, the day before Election Day. Voters who miss the early window will need to vote at their assigned neighborhood precinct polling place on Election Day or return a properly completed absentee ballot by the deadline.

Voters who prefer to vote by mail face two key deadlines. Absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3. Ballots sent by mail must be postmarked by Monday, Nov. 2, to be counted.

Anyone voting in person should bring an accepted form of photo identification. Accepted IDs include an Ohio driver’s license or state ID card, a U.S. passport, or a military ID, among other approved options. The deadline to register to vote in this election was Oct. 5, so eligibility is already set for the Nov. 3 ballot. Voters with questions can call the board at 330-722-9278.

On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Unlike early voting, which is held at the board office, Election Day voting takes place at neighborhood precinct polling places assigned to each voter. Voters should confirm their precinct location before heading out that morning to avoid going to the wrong location.

Planning ahead can make voting faster and simpler. Choosing an early weekday may help voters avoid the longer hours and busier final weekend, while absentee voters should mail ballots early enough to meet the Nov. 2 postmark deadline. Whether voting early, by mail, or on Nov. 3, Medina County voters should double-check their identification, deadlines, and polling place before they go.
