Monroe County voters are in the final days of early voting for the Nov. 3, 2026 general election, with the Monroe County Board of Elections in Woodsfield open Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for in-person early voting.
Early in-person voting is held at the board’s office at 117 N. Main St., Suite 12, in Woodsfield, according to the board’s listing with the Ohio Secretary of State. The board can be reached at 740-472-0929.
Early voting in Monroe County began Oct. 6 and ran weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 23, then shifted to longer hours in the final week — 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, and Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28-30, and 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, the final day to request an absentee ballot by mail, according to the board’s published schedule.
Sunday, Nov. 1, is the final day to vote early in person anywhere in Ohio. After that, voting is on Election Day only — Tuesday, Nov. 3, when polls are open statewide from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Voters who still hold an absentee ballot should not rely on the mail at this point. Under Ohio law, absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted — there is no longer a grace period after Election Day for most ballots — and Secretary of State Frank LaRose warned on Oct. 27 that it might already be too late to mail a ballot and have it arrive in time, according to The Columbus Dispatch. Ballots can be dropped off in person at the board office in Woodsfield.
On Election Day, Monroe County voters cast ballots at their designated polling places in their own precincts. Voters who are unsure of their polling place or registration status can check at voteohio.gov or call the board of elections.
