Early in-person voting for the November 3 general election continues this week in Marion County, with voters able to cast a ballot from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday at the Marion County Board of Elections, 222 West Center Street in Marion.
The board is following the statewide early-voting schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. Hours expand in the final stretch: Saturday, October 24 runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, October 26 runs 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Tuesday, October 27 runs 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Voting then continues October 28 through 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 1 from 1 to 5 p.m.
There is no in-person early voting on Monday, November 2. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, when polls across Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and voters cast ballots at their assigned polling places.
Voters who prefer to vote by mail face a firm deadline next week. Absentee ballot applications must be received by the board of elections by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
Marion County voters can check their registration, find their Election Day polling location and view a sample ballot before they go through the Ohio board of elections lookup tools and the county board’s own information. Reviewing the sample ballot in advance is a practical way to work through the full list of races and questions before stepping into the booth.
The voter registration deadline for this election was October 5, when boards of elections and the Secretary of State’s office stayed open until 9 p.m. Voters who have moved or changed their name since they last voted should confirm their registration details with the board before heading out, so a correct ballot can be issued.
Board staff at the West Center Street office can answer questions about early voting, absentee applications and polling places during voting hours. Marion County voters who want the shortest wait are encouraged to use the remaining weekday and weekend early-voting windows rather than waiting for the final weekend or Election Day morning.
