Lake County early voting for the November 3, 2026, general election continues this week at the Lake County Board of Elections in Painesville, where registered voters can cast an in-person absentee ballot ahead of Election Day. The board lists early in-person voting at its office only, at 105 Main St., Suite 107, in Painesville.
Hours this week, from Monday, October 19, through Friday, October 23, are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the board. Weekend voting follows on Saturday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early voting began October 6, after the October 5 deadline to register to vote for this election.
Hours expand in the final week before Election Day. The board lists Monday, October 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, October 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Wednesday, October 28, through Friday, October 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voting continues Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and ends Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The schedule posted by the Lake County board matches the statewide early in-person voting schedule published by the Ohio Secretary of State. The Secretary of State also lists October 27 as the deadline for absentee ballot applications to be received by a board of elections, by 8:30 p.m. that day.
Voters who prefer to vote by mail can use the absentee application linked from the board’s website. The board says residents who do not have a printer at home can call its office at 440-350-2700 and the board will send an application by mail. The Secretary of State lists that non-UOCAVA absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3.
Before voting, residents can use the board’s website to review what will be on their ballot. The board posts a November 3, 2026, general election candidates list and a questions and issues list for Lake County, along with information on State Issue 3 provided from the Ohio Secretary of State’s website. The board also links to tools for checking voter registration, finding an Election Day polling location and checking absentee ballot status.
On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, all Lake County polling locations will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., according to the board. Early in-person voting is held only at the board office, not at Election Day polling locations. The board’s regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and its office can be reached at 440-350-2700.
