FINDLAY, Ohio — Early voting for the November 3 general election enters its final week in Hancock County, with expanded hours beginning Monday, October 26, at the Hancock County Board of Elections, 201 East Lincoln Street, rear entrance, in Findlay.
Under the statewide schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State, early in-person voting runs from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 26, and from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27. Voting continues from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30, then from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, the final day of early voting. There is no early voting on Monday, November 2.
Tuesday, October 27, carries a second deadline Hancock County voters should note: absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. that evening. Voters voting by mail must return their ballots so they are received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
Hancock County voters decided a first-pass ballot preview earlier this fall that included countywide levies for alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services and for senior services, contested county offices, and district races for the state legislature and Congress. Sample ballots for each precinct remain available through the board and the Secretary of State so voters can review their exact races before they arrive.
Voters casting a ballot in person, early or on Election Day, must bring an unexpired photo identification — an Ohio driver’s license or state identification card, a U.S. passport, or a military or veterans identification. Polls on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and voters in line at closing time are permitted to vote.
The final week is traditionally the busiest stretch of early voting in Ohio, as hours lengthen and the campaign enters its closing days. Hancock County voters who want to avoid Election Day lines can use any of the sessions above at the board office in Findlay; no appointment and no excuse are needed to vote early in person.
Results from Hancock County, including its county races and levies, will be reported after the polls close on November 3, with certification to follow under the board’s regular post-election schedule.
