Avtron Power Solutions LLC will create 150 new jobs and retain 285 positions in the Village of Valley View and Seven Hills as it expands its Northeast Ohio manufacturing operations, the company announced Monday, October 26. The Ohio Department of Development approved the project for tax credit assistance at the Ohio Tax Credit Authority meeting the same day.

Avtron, a business unit of Legrand, is a worldwide producer of load banks — power testing equipment used to verify that backup generators will perform when they are needed. The company said it is scaling up production to serve a growing customer base, including the addition of 12 new product lines.

The majority of the new jobs will be based in Valley View, according to the announcement. Village of Valley View Mayor Matthew March said the village is proud to have Avtron as part of its business community and looks forward to many more years of partnership and growth as the company expands there.

Avtron has called Northeast Ohio home since its founding in the 1950s. Zac Bridgeman, the company’s vice president and general manager, said the expansion combines hiring, a larger production footprint and increased purchases from local suppliers, and he thanked the partners whose support made the continued growth possible.

The project was put together through the collective work of Valley View, Cuyahoga County, Seven Hills, the Ohio Department of Development, JobsOhio and Team NEO. JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef said the expansion shows an Ohio manufacturer growing alongside fast-moving industries, and that the new product lines and 150 jobs in Cuyahoga County reflect a workforce and business climate that continue to attract global investment.

Team NEO Chief Executive Officer Matt Dolan said demand for reliable, resilient power keeps growing, and companies like Avtron play an important role in supporting businesses and critical operations. Avtron’s load banks and power testing solutions serve data centers, critical power customers, renewable energy projects and industrial manufacturers — sectors where a failed backup system can shut down operations.

For workers in Valley View, Seven Hills and the surrounding Cuyahoga County communities, the announcement means both new openings and security for the 285 existing positions the company committed to retain. The expansion adds to a run of manufacturing investment in Northeast Ohio tied to power and data-center demand, and local officials said they expect hiring and the new production lines to build in the period ahead as the company puts the state assistance to work.
