The University of Findlay women’s soccer team kept its late-season roll going Thursday, October 22, blanking Walsh University 3-0 in North Canton to extend its unbeaten streak to nine games.

Findlay wasted little time getting started. Sophomore Addison Williams opened the scoring at the 6:36 mark off an assist from senior Taylir Lynam, and the Oilers struck again shortly after, with junior Avary Zeisloft finding the net off an assist from fifth-year Raegan Smith. A third Findlay goal closed out the shutout win.

With the victory, the Oilers improved to 11-2-3 overall and 8-1-3 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play, one of the strongest marks in the league as the regular season winds toward its final week.

The result continued what the university called an impressive scoring run for the Oilers, who have paired that attack with a defense that has now posted a clean sheet on the road against a conference opponent.

Walsh, hosting in North Canton, was unable to answer any of the three Findlay goals, as the Oilers controlled the match from the early minutes on the strength of the two quick first-half strikes.

Findlay’s nine-game unbeaten streak positions the Oilers well for the G-MAC tournament field, where seeding will reward the teams that finish the regular season in form.

The scoring came from across the roster’s class years — a sophomore opener assisted by a senior, then a junior finisher set up by a fifth-year player — the kind of balance that has carried Findlay through a nine-game unbeaten run in which it has not lost since September.

For Walsh, the loss came on its home field in North Canton against one of the conference’s form teams. The Cavaliers were held scoreless while Findlay scored early and late, a pattern that has repeated through the Oilers’ unbeaten streak.

The Oilers close the regular season next week before conference tournament play begins, carrying one of the G-MAC’s best records and its longest current unbeaten run into the postseason.
