Pike County voters can cast an early in-person ballot for the Nov. 3 general election from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 23, at the Pike County Board of Elections, 230 Waverly Plaza, Suite 1100, in Waverly. Early voting has been under way since Oct. 6 under the statewide schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State.
The board’s office is the county’s only early voting location. Its regular office hours include a midday lunch closure, but early voting does not stop for lunch — voters can cast a ballot at any point during the posted early-voting hours. The board can be reached at 740-947-4512 or by email at [email protected].
Saturday voting arrives this weekend: the office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24. Hours expand further in the final week, running 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, and 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, then 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Wednesday, Oct. 28, through Friday, Oct. 30.
The last weekend of early voting offers two more chances: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1. Early in-person voting then ends, and voters who have not yet cast a ballot will vote at their polling place on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, when polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 27, is also a key deadline for voting by mail: absentee ballot applications must be received by the board of elections by 8:30 p.m. that day. Voters who have already requested a mail ballot and still have it at home should bring the unmarked ballot with them if they decide to vote in person instead, and a voter who has already returned a mail ballot should not cast a second one.
Pike County ballots for Nov. 3 include township questions alongside the statewide races, among them fire-protection levy renewals for Seal Township and Piketon Village and for Sunfish Township, and a cemetery levy renewal for Union Township, in addition to the county, state and federal contests on every Ohio ballot.
Voters can confirm their registration, preview their ballot and find their Election Day polling location through the Pike County Board of Elections page at boe.ohio.gov/pike. The board’s Waverly office, at 230 Waverly Plaza, Suite 1100, handles early voting, absentee applications and voter questions through Election Day.
