MPLX LP, the Findlay-based midstream energy partnership, announced Tuesday, Oct. 27, that it is raising its quarterly cash distribution by 12.5 percent, declaring $1.2111 per common unit for the third quarter of 2026 in a company release distributed by PR Newswire.
The new rate works out to $4.84 per unit on an annualized basis, MPLX said in its release. The increase amounts to $0.1346 more per unit than the distribution paid for the second quarter of 2026.
The distribution will be paid on Nov. 13, 2026, to common unitholders of record as of Nov. 6, 2026, according to the company’s announcement. Investors who hold units on the record date will receive the payment at the new, higher rate.
MPLX is one of Hancock County’s signature corporate names. The partnership is headquartered in Findlay alongside Marathon Petroleum Corporation, and it owns and operates the pipelines, terminals, storage facilities and other midstream infrastructure that move crude oil, natural gas and refined products.
Because MPLX is a master limited partnership, most of its available cash flows back to unitholders through these quarterly distributions rather than through a conventional corporate dividend. That structure makes the size of the quarterly distribution the number income-focused investors watch most closely.
The company’s release also included its standard qualified tax notice for brokers and nominees holding units for non-U.S. investors, advising that the distributions be treated as income effectively connected with a U.S. trade or business for federal withholding purposes.
The Nov. 6 record date is the next marker for unitholders, with payment following a week later on Nov. 13. The announcement was made from Findlay on Tuesday and distributed nationally through PR Newswire.
The math of the increase is straightforward for individual holders: an investor holding 100 common units on the record date will receive $121.11 for the quarter at the new rate, compared with $107.65 at the second-quarter rate implied by the company’s figures.
MPLX trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker MPLX, the company noted in its release. Its Findlay headquarters anchors one of the largest employment centers in Hancock County, and its quarterly announcements are watched in northwest Ohio as a barometer for the region’s energy economy.
