DEFIANCE, Ohio — Early in-person voting for the Nov. 3 general election enters its final week Monday in Defiance County, with the board of elections opening for extended hours as the last full week of voting gets underway.
Defiance County voters can cast an early ballot at the Defiance County Board of Elections, 1300 E. Second St., Suite 103, in Defiance, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s early voting locations directory. The board’s site lists the Nov. 3, 2026 general election as the next election, with sample ballots, early voting hours and polling locations available for voters who want to review their ballot before they arrive.
Under the statewide early voting schedule published by the Secretary of State, early in-person voting runs Monday, Oct. 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day. Voting continues Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the last day of early in-person voting.
Tuesday also carries a key deadline for voters who prefer to vote by mail: absentee ballot applications must be received by the board of elections by 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 27. Non-UOCAVA absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, to be counted, and election officials advise voters who have not mailed a ballot back by Oct. 26 to hand-deliver it to the board office instead.
Early voting began statewide on Oct. 6, following the Oct. 5 voter registration deadline, when boards of elections and the Secretary of State’s office stayed open until 9 p.m. Military and overseas absentee voting began Sept. 18, and those ballots must be received by mail by Nov. 7 to be counted.
Defiance County’s ballot for Nov. 3 was first previewed earlier in this election cycle, when voters weighed the county’s contested races and local issues alongside the statewide races that appear on every Ohio ballot. This final-week update is about logistics: where to vote, when the office is open, and which deadlines fall this week.
On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, polls across Ohio will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Defiance County voters who plan to vote early this week should bring a valid photo ID, and anyone unsure of their registration status or polling place can check through the board of elections or the Secretary of State’s voter lookup before heading out.
