Delaware County voters enter the final week of early in-person voting Monday, Oct. 26, with the county Board of Elections open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 2079 U.S. Highway 23 North, Suite 4, in Delaware, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s early-voting directory.

Early voting began Oct. 6 in Delaware County and across Ohio for the Nov. 3 general election. Monday starts the longest-hours stretch of the early-voting calendar, after three weeks of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekday sessions and a Saturday session on Oct. 24.

The schedule lengthens again Tuesday, Oct. 27, when the board stays open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday is also the deadline that matters most for voters who still want a ballot by mail: absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. that night.

Early in-person hours continue Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., then Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is no early in-person voting on Monday, Nov. 2, the day before Election Day.

Delaware County voters cast ballots in statewide races and on the county and local questions on their Nov. 3 ballots, and officials remind voters that an early ballot is cast at the board of elections office, not at the precinct polling place listed for Election Day.

On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, polls in Delaware County and statewide are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and non-military absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. that day to be counted.

Voters who are still in line when an early-voting session is scheduled to end are allowed to vote. Sample ballots and precinct information are available through the Delaware County Board of Elections and the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter lookup tools.

Delaware is one of Ohio’s fastest-growing counties, and election officials have pointed voters to the board office as the single early-voting site for the county, with precinct polling places opening only on Election Day itself.
