Root, Inc., the Columbus-based technology company behind the Root Insurance app, will take its story to investors at two November conferences, the company announced Thursday, Oct. 22. Management will appear at TD Cowen’s 2026 Financials and Fintech Conference in New York City on Tuesday, Nov. 17, and at the Stephens Annual Investment Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Alex Timm will host a fireside chat at 1:15 p.m. Central time on Nov. 18 at the Stephens conference. Root said its investor material, along with a webcast and replay of the fireside chat, will be available through the investor relations section of its website, and the company will also hold one-on-one and group meetings with institutional investors at both events.
Root describes itself as a technology company using data science and automation to price car insurance. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Columbus, the company says its app has been downloaded more than 18 million times and has analyzed more than 37 billion miles of driving data to deliver what it calls personalized, easy and fair pricing.
The conference swing puts a Columbus-grown company in front of two of the financial industry’s regular fall gatherings for banks, insurers and financial technology firms. Appearances of this kind are a routine way for publicly traded companies — Root trades on Nasdaq under the ticker ROOT — to update large investors on growth, underwriting results and product plans outside the quarterly earnings calendar.
Root is the parent company of Root Insurance Company, and it has grown into one of the most visible technology employers in Central Ohio’s insurance corridor, a sector anchored in Columbus for generations by national carriers and their suppliers. Its usage-based model prices policies largely on how customers actually drive, measured through the smartphone app, rather than relying only on traditional rating factors.
Investors who want to follow along do not need to attend either conference in person. The company said the Nov. 18 fireside chat will be webcast live, with a replay posted afterward on its investor relations home page at ir.joinroot.com.
The appearances come as Root closes out its 2026 conference calendar. The company did not announce any new products or financial guidance alongside the conference notice, which was limited to the two dates, the fireside chat time and where the materials will be posted.
