Cincinnati has landed its second commitment of the day, and this one stays close to home: Centerville offensive lineman Jason Middleton has committed to the Bearcats, 247Sports reported on Nov. 1. The Dayton-area native recently visited Cincinnati for the Bearcats’ game against Utah.
Middleton, a 6-foot-7 tackle prospect, chose Cincinnati over offers from Toledo, Ohio and Austin Peay, according to 247Sports. Edge rusher Kamdyn Stringer committed to Cincinnati earlier on Sunday, making Middleton the program’s second pledge of the day.
At Centerville, Middleton plays left tackle and matches his size with an aggressive, physical playing style, 247Sports reported. The recruiting outlet noted his long arms and good feet, which put him in a strong position with a solid base to keep pass rushers from pressuring the quarterback.
Middleton is the fourth offensive lineman and the second tackle prospect to commit to Cincinnati in the 2027 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. He joins 6-foot-5, 260-pound tackle Zayvion Smith, who could also play on the outside for the Bearcats in the future.
The rest of the Bearcats’ offensive line class so far projects to the interior. Interior offensive linemen Ryan Massie-Cable and Jalen Webb project to play inside for Cincinnati, 247Sports reported, giving the program a mix of tackles and interior linemen in the 2027 group.
For Centerville, Middleton’s commitment continues the Elks’ run of producing college-level linemen, and it keeps a Southwest Ohio prospect in the region for his college career. He is expected to finish his high school career at Centerville before enrolling at Cincinnati as part of the 2027 class.
Middleton’s pledge also gives Cincinnati a recruiting win over two in-state programs that offered him, Toledo and Ohio, according to 247Sports. The Bearcats will look to hold his commitment through the remainder of the 2027 recruiting cycle.
