Harrison County voters have entered the final week of early in-person voting for the November 3 general election, with ballots being cast at the Harrison County Board of Elections, 538 N. Main St., Suite B, in the Government Center in Cadiz.

Early voting runs on the statewide schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. On Monday, October 26, the board is open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, October 27, hours extend from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. — and that Tuesday is also the deadline for absentee ballot applications, which must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m.

Voting continues Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., then Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is no early in-person voting on Monday, November 2, the day before the election.

Harrison County’s November 3 ballot, previewed earlier in this coverage, includes four renewal levies and a two-way commissioner race, alongside the statewide races and issues every Ohio voter will decide. Voters can preview their specific ballot through the board of elections and the Secretary of State’s voter tools before they go.

The board’s regular office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the office can be reached at 740-942-8866. Early voters cast their ballots at the board office, not at their Election Day precinct — a distinction that trips up voters in every cycle.

For voters voting by mail, non-overseas absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, to be counted. Voters who have requested a mail ballot and decide to vote in person instead should check with the board on how to do so correctly.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, when Harrison County precinct polling places are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters in line when a voting session is scheduled to end are allowed to vote.
