STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — Jefferson County voters head to their precinct polling places today, Tuesday, Nov. 3, to decide the 2026 general election, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. across the county. The Jefferson County Board of Elections, at 500 Market St., Suite 1, in Steubenville, administers today’s vote, from precinct polling places to the count that begins after polls close tonight.

Early in-person voting in Jefferson County ended Sunday, Nov. 1, at 5 p.m., the board’s published schedule shows, after a final week that included evening hours and weekend voting on Saturday and Sunday. Voters who chose to vote early cast their ballots at the board office; today, voting moves to assigned precinct locations, which voters can confirm through the board or the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter lookup.

The county ballot, previewed in NewsForce247’s first-pass coverage of Jefferson County, is headed by a 911 levy renewal and a contested race for county commissioner, alongside the statewide races every Ohio voter decides today: governor, U.S. senator, the other statewide executive offices, two Ohio Supreme Court seats, and State Issue 3, the proposed photo ID constitutional amendment.

One deadline matters most for voters who requested a ballot by mail. Under Senate Bill 293, absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. tonight to be counted — there is no longer a grace period for ballots that arrive after Election Day, The Columbus Dispatch reported, with an exception for military and overseas voters. The board’s address for in-person drop-off today is 500 Market St., Suite 1, Steubenville, according to The Columbus Dispatch’s statewide drop-off listing.

Jefferson County votes on a digital-scan system, the board’s voting information page explains: voters mark a paper ballot and feed it into a scanner. Anyone in line when polls close at 7:30 p.m. may still vote, and voters with questions today can reach the board at its Steubenville office.

What happens next: polls close at 7:30 p.m., and the board will report unofficial results tonight, beginning with absentee and early ballots. Official canvass and certification follow in the days ahead, and NewsForce247 will update its Jefferson County coverage as the county’s results are reported.
