Monroe County voters have entered the final week of early in-person voting for the November 3, 2026 general election, with the Monroe County Board of Elections in Woodsfield open extended hours through Sunday, November 1, according to the board’s published early voting schedule. Early voting takes place at the board office at 117 N. Main St., Suite 12, in Woodsfield.

Tuesday, October 27 carries the week’s longest day and one of its most important deadlines. The board lists early voting hours of 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on October 27, and the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting calendar states that absentee ballot applications must be received by the board of elections by 8:30 p.m. that same day. Voters who still want to vote by mail and have not yet applied are therefore working against a deadline that arrives at the close of voting on Tuesday.

Hours stay extended for the rest of the final week. According to the Monroe County Board of Elections schedule, early in-person voting runs from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Wednesday, October 28 through Friday, October 30, then from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. The final session is Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., after which early in-person voting ends statewide ahead of Election Day.

Early in-person voting in Ohio began October 6, according to the Secretary of State, and Monroe County voters can cast an early ballot at the board office regardless of their precinct. The board, which can be reached at 740-472-0929, also notes that its drop-off box at the rear entrance of the office is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week for absentee ballot applications to be returned to the board.

Voters who have already received a mail ballot should note the return deadline that follows. The Secretary of State’s calendar states that non-UOCAVA absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, to be counted. An application deadline and a ballot-return deadline are different steps.

Before heading to Woodsfield, voters can preview what they will be asked to decide. The Monroe County Board of Elections provides voter lookup, polling place search and ballot list tools through its website, allowing a voter to check registration information and review the ballot for their precinct in advance — useful in a general election, when contests and questions vary by precinct.

Anyone who does not vote early, in person or by mail, retains the Election Day option. Polls across Ohio will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, according to the Secretary of State, and on Election Day voters cast ballots at their assigned precinct polling place rather than at the board office. With the absentee application deadline falling Tuesday night and early voting closing Sunday afternoon, Monroe County voters have a narrowing but still complete set of choices in the final week.
