URBANA, Ohio — Early in-person voting in Champaign County enters its final week Monday, with the county Board of Elections in Urbana opening longer hours as the Nov. 3 general election approaches and the deadline to request an absentee ballot arrives Tuesday.
Early voting for the Nov. 3 election is held at the Champaign County Board of Elections, 1512 S. U.S. Highway 68, Suite L100, in Urbana, under the statewide schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. The final week’s hours are Monday, Oct. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m. There is no early voting on Monday, Nov. 2.
Tuesday, Oct. 27, is also the deadline for the board to receive absentee ballot applications, by 8:30 p.m. Voters who cast an absentee ballot by mail must have it received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, when polls across the county are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Military and overseas ballots returned by mail must arrive by Nov. 7.
Statewide races top every Champaign County ballot. Voters will choose between Democrat Amy Acton and her running mate David Pepper and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy and his running mate A. Robert McColley for governor and lieutenant governor, and between Republican Jon Husted and Democrat Sherrod Brown for the U.S. Senate term ending Jan. 3, 2029.
County voters will also decide a county commissioner race between Karen T. Bailey and Jacob McKee, a county auditor race, and a judgeship for the Common Pleas Court’s Juvenile, Domestic and Probate Division, where Brett A. Gilbert is on the ballot, according to the sample ballot published by the county board of elections.
Two money questions appear on county ballots. Voters countywide will decide an additional tax levy for the Champaign County Board of Developmental Disabilities — 1.5 mills, amounting to $53 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s market value, estimated to collect $2,490,000 annually for programs, services and facilities, for five years commencing in 2027. Voters in the Urbana City School District will also decide a proposed 1 percent income tax on earned income for five years beginning Jan. 1, 2027, for current expenses.
Voters can preview their own precinct’s ballot through the Champaign County Board of Elections’ sample ballot lookup before heading to Urbana. Election Day voting on Nov. 3 takes place at each voter’s assigned precinct polling location, not at the board office.
