Early voting for the November 3 general election enters its final full week in Carroll County on Monday, with the county board of elections in Carrollton set for its longest hours of the season as voters decide a county home levy renewal, a contested judgeship and the rest of the fall ballot.

The Carroll County Board of Elections, now located in the Carroll County Annex Building at 211 Moody Avenue SW, Suite 107, in Carrollton — the board has moved out of the courthouse — is the county’s single early in-person voting site. Election Day voting on Tuesday, November 3 happens at precinct polling places, which will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The statewide early-voting schedule stretches out in the final week. Boards are open Monday, October 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, October 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. — the longest day of the early season; Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, November 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is no early voting on Monday, November 2. Voters already in line when a session ends are allowed to vote.

One deadline lands before the long hours do: absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27. Voted absentee ballots must reach the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to count, a deadline the board has been reminding mail voters about throughout October.

Every voter must show accepted identification. Ohio law accepts an Ohio driver’s license, state ID card or interim ID form issued by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, a U.S. military or Ohio National Guard ID card, a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card, or a U.S. passport or passport card. A notice mailed by the board of elections cannot be used as ID.

Carroll County voters can preview exactly what they will see in the booth before they go: the board’s site, at boe.ohio.gov/carroll, links to sample ballots, the full list of candidates and issues, and a polling-place lookup for Election Day. The board can also be reached at 330-627-2610 during its regular Monday-through-Friday office hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
