Williamsburg scored early, scored often and made a little history doing it. The No. 2 Wildcats routed No. 10 Greenon 61-20 on Friday night, Nov. 6, in a Division V, Region 20 regional quarterfinal at Ken Osborne Field at Abrams Stadium, behind five touchdowns from senior running back Gray Robinson. The final score was reported by The Clermont Sun, which covered the game in Williamsburg, and listed by the Columbus Dispatch, the Zanesville Times Recorder and the Mansfield News Journal.

Robinson’s line, reported identically by The Clermont Sun and the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Week 12 top performers list, was the night in miniature: 13 carries for 213 yards and four rushing touchdowns, plus two catches for 66 yards and a fifth, receiving touchdown. The Clermont Sun reported Williamsburg scored on its first eight offensive possessions and put seven touchdowns on the board in the first half alone.

The performance carried a backstory. The Clermont Sun reported Robinson had been hampered since suffering turf toe in Week 1 against Ironton and re-injuring it in a Week 2 return attempt against New Richmond. Friday, healthy on the biggest night of the season, he delivered the program’s loudest playoff statement.

The Clermont Sun reported quarterback Landen Brandenburg scored Williamsburg’s first three touchdowns on runs of 5, 2 and 2 yards — the first just 20 seconds into the game, after Zander Fishback’s 67-yard opening kickoff return set the Wildcats up at the Greenon 5 — and finished with 98 rushing yards on nine carries. Manning Dilley added a 72-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, The Clermont Sun reported.

The win matters beyond one night. The Clermont Sun reported it was just the third playoff victory in Williamsburg history and the second since 2023, and that it gave this senior class the most wins of any senior class in school history. Williamsburg improves to 10-1; Greenon, a pass-heavy team led by quarterback Taegan Henry, entered at 7-3 per the pairings listings carried by High School Football America and the Canton Repository.

What happens next: Williamsburg hosts No. 6 Bishop Fenwick in the Region 20 semifinal at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, back at Ken Osborne Field at Abrams Stadium, according to The Clermont Sun. Fenwick advanced with a 34-0 win over Miami East on Friday, a score listed by the Dispatch and Cincinnati.com. It is Williamsburg’s second semifinal appearance in four years, The Clermont Sun reported — and this time, the Wildcats get it at home.
