WOOSTER, Ohio — Wayne County voters have one last chance to vote early in person on Sunday, Nov. 1, before Tuesday’s Nov. 3 general election, according to the Wayne County Board of Elections and reporting by The Daily Record.

Early in-person voting runs Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the county’s Early Vote Center, the Wayne County Board of Elections at 200 Vanover Street, Suite 1, in Wooster. Early voting ends at 5 p.m. Sunday, the center is closed on Monday, Nov. 2, and there is no voting at the board office on Election Day. On Tuesday, Nov. 3, voters cast ballots at their assigned polling locations, open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., The Daily Record reported.

“If voters have any questions about early voting, absentee ballots, or the voting process, we encourage them to call the Board of Elections before coming in,” Wayne County Board of Elections Director Julie Stahl told The Daily Record. “We also want to recognize and thank the poll workers and volunteers who give their time to help elections run smoothly.” The board can be reached at 330-287-5480.

Wayne County’s Nov. 3 ballot includes school taxes and township issues, as NewsForce247 covered in its first-pass look at the Wayne County ballot, along with the statewide races on every Ohio ballot and statewide Issue 3, the proposed constitutional amendment on voter photo identification. Ohio law requires voters to present a valid photo ID when voting in person.

Absentee voters face a hard deadline this year. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the Wayne County Board of Elections no later than 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3 — by mail, in the board’s drop box, or delivered in person, The Daily Record reported; different return provisions apply to military and overseas voters. Secretary of State Frank LaRose warned on Oct. 27 that it might already be too late to mail a ballot and have it arrive by the deadline, according to The Columbus Dispatch. Wayne County voters still holding a completed ballot should hand-deliver it to 200 Vanover Street rather than mailing it. Voters can check the status of an absentee ballot through the board’s online lookup at waynecountyohio.gov.

What happens next: early voting ends at 5 p.m. Sunday. After that, the only ways to vote in this election are in person at your assigned polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 3, between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., or by hand-delivering a completed absentee ballot to the board office before polls close that evening.
