ProMedica has broken ground on an $18 million emergency and urgent care facility in Perrysburg Township, expanding medical access for one of Northwest Ohio’s fastest-growing corridors.
Company officials turned the first shovels of dirt at a ceremony on Thursday. The new facility is expected to open in about 18 months and will offer both emergency and urgent care services under one roof, giving Perrysburg-area residents a closer option for acute medical needs.
The project continues ProMedica’s recent push to grow its outpatient footprint across the region, where suburban growth around Toledo has strained existing emergency departments. Officials said the Perrysburg site was chosen because of the area’s population growth and demand for faster access to care.
The $18 million investment is also a vote of confidence in the township’s economic momentum. Local leaders have courted health-care investment as a way to anchor jobs and services in the community for the long term.
Construction crews are expected on site in the coming weeks, with work ramping up through the winter. ProMedica has not yet announced how many new jobs the facility will create or which services will staff the opening-day lineup.
Residents will be able to follow construction progress through township and company announcements ahead of the anticipated opening.
