Preble County voters are in the final stretch of early voting for the Nov. 3 general election, with the county’s early-voting site in Eaton open Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and for a final session Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Preble County Board of Elections.

All in-person early voting in the county takes place at one location: the Junction Village Community Room, 532 N. Barron Street in Eaton, the board says. Early voting began Oct. 6, the same day absentee ballots by mail began going out, and Sunday’s four-hour session is the last chance to cast a ballot early in person — there is no regular early voting on Monday, Nov. 2.

On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, polls across Preble County are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at each voter’s assigned polling location, the board says. Voters who still hold a mail absentee ballot should take note of a statewide change: under Senate Bill 293, signed by Gov. Mike DeWine in December 2025, absentee ballots must be received by the board by the close of polls on Election Day to be counted, with an exception for military and overseas voters, as the Columbus Dispatch reported. The board’s own drop-off location is 532 N. Barron St. in Eaton.

The county ballot is topped by Ohio’s statewide races — governor, U.S. senator, secretary of state, attorney general, auditor, treasurer and the state Supreme Court seats — along with State Issue 3. Preble County’s own contested and uncontested county offices also appear, including county commissioner, where Republican Harold Niehaus is listed on the board’s election summary, and county auditor, where Republican Lavon Wright is listed.

Local questions give voters in several communities decisions closer to home. Among them is Issue 5 in the Village of Camden, a proposed renewal tax levy of 6 mills for police services, according to the board’s published election summary. School, township and village races and levies elsewhere in the county vary by precinct, and the board posts sample ballots for the general election on its site so voters can review their exact ballot before they go.

The board’s office is at 532 N. Barron Street in Eaton, and it can be reached at (937) 456-8117, according to its official page. Voters unsure of their registration status or Election Day polling place can check through the board or the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter lookup tools before Tuesday.

What happens next is the finish itself: the final early-voting session Sunday afternoon, then Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Absentee ballots must be in the board’s hands by 7:30 p.m. that night to count. Results for Preble County’s races and issues will begin posting after polls close.
