Card Chase LLC, described as Ohio’s first mobile sports card and Pokémon Trading Card Game truck, makes its public debut on Thursday, October 22, in Greenhills. The truck will open at 6 p.m. during Collector’s Night at American Legion Post 530, 11100 Winton Road, and will serve collectors until 9:30 p.m. The Greater Cincinnati appearance is the first public stop for the business, which brings a card shop to customers instead of operating from a storefront.
The vehicle is a gold-wrapped, fully built-out card shop on wheels. Rather than asking collectors to come to a fixed location, Card Chase plans to drive to card shows, sporting events, festivals and community gatherings. The company said the format is intended to reach families and collectors in the places where they already gather for the hobby.
Card Chase sells sealed product only. Its stock includes blasters, mega boxes, value boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes and select hobby boxes. The products cover Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association and Pokémon, and come from Topps, Panini and The Pokémon Company.
The launch includes a giveaway for visitors at the Greenhills debut. The first 50 visitors who show a social media shoutout of Card Chase at the truck window will receive a free Topps Flagship Basketball fat pack. The collector who pulls the lowest-numbered card from those packs will win a hobby box.
Chief Executive Officer Greg Little said most families do not live next to a card shop, and store shelves are often picked clean. He said the company built Card Chase so the shop comes to customers instead, giving a parent and a child the chance to open a box together. That access problem, the company said, is the reason for putting the shop on wheels.
Director of Operations Brian Hiler said card shows are where Ohio’s hobby lives, so that is where Card Chase is starting. From there, he said, the truck will go to festivals, markets and game days. The company plans to take the truck across the Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus areas as it builds out its schedule.
Collectors who want to see the truck at its first stop can find it at American Legion Post 530 in Greenhills on Thursday evening. The truck opens at 6 p.m. for Collector’s Night and will remain open until 9:30 p.m., with the launch giveaway available to the first 50 qualifying visitors while the opening-night packs last.
