No, Disney is not building a theme park in Cincinnati. A viral claim that a “Disneyland Ohio” resort is coming to the city is a work of fiction from a satirical website, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported in an October 28 fact-check.

A reel shared to Facebook and TikTok by Mouse Trap News on Tuesday, October 27 claimed the Ohio resort would be “the most impressive resort yet,” according to the Enquirer’s reporting. The reels linked to the site’s March 11, 2026 article claiming a $100 billion project in Cincinnati would be the largest Disney park in the nation, at twice the size of Walt Disney World in Florida, and could open by 2035, the Enquirer reported.

Mouse Trap News does not hide that the story is false, calling it “totally made-up” in a paragraph at the bottom of its page, according to the Enquirer. The site bills itself as “the world’s best satire and parody site,” the Enquirer reported.

“We write fake stories about Disney Parks stuff,” the website states on its about page, as quoted in the Enquirer’s reporting. “From Disney Park announcements to Disney Hotel and resort news to made-up Disney partnerships, you can be assured that anything you read here is not true, real, or accurate, but it is fun,” the site states, according to the Enquirer.

The Enquirer’s fact-check pointed to the scale of the claims as another clue: the satirical article says the park would cover 50,000 acres, roughly 78 square miles — about as big as the City of Cincinnati itself, which covers about 77.8 square miles according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Enquirer reported.

The fictional park was described as divided into five individual parks, along with 30 hotels, five golf courses and 100 pickleball courts, according to the Enquirer’s reporting of the satirical article. The Enquirer also noted the article misspells “Cincinnati” and claims Ohio weather is good year-round.

For Cincinnati-area residents, the bottom line from the Enquirer’s fact-check is simple: there is no Disney park project approved by Disney or the State of Ohio for Cincinnati, and the circulating reels trace back to satire, not to a real announcement. Readers who see the claim shared should treat it as entertainment, not news.
