A new Butler County bus service debuted Tuesday, linking workers to jobs along the Interstate 75 corridor between northern Cincinnati and south Dayton with stops in Middletown and Monroe.
The WorkLink route, operated by the Butler County Regional Transit Authority, is a joint effort among the cities of Middletown and Monroe, Atrium Medical Center and BCRTA. It is the first public transit connection joining the Greater Dayton RTA, BCRTA and Metro/Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority systems — meaning riders can now transfer to the Metro and Greater Dayton RTA networks as well as the CATS system in Greene County.
The route connects the Greater Dayton RTA hub on Lyons Road in Miami Township with the Metro/SORTA Park and Ride at the Meijer store on Tylersville Road in West Chester Township. Along the way it stops at two Monroe locations in Park North — one near the new Amazon facility and one across the street from the Home Depot — plus PAC Worldwide and Atrium Medical Center.
The bus runs six days a week and covers all three work shifts at $2 per ride. BCRTA Executive Director Matthew Dutkevicz said the service was built to give workers across the region a dependable way to reach jobs in the growing corridor.
“BCRTA is excited to help our communities support workers and business by connecting Butler, Hamilton, Montgomery, and Warren counties with public transit along the I-75 growth corridor,” Dutkevicz said. “We’re proud of this partnership and look forward to expanding opportunities like this to create seamless transportation options for workers in our region.”
Riders can find schedules and route maps through BCRTA’s customer service and transit partner websites.
