The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) disclosed Thursday that it turned over the investigation to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office earlier this week. A DCSO spokesperson said the move was made “to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest,” given Judge Schuck’s position within the local judicial system.
Officials have not released details about the alleged incident, and no charges have been filed at this time. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will now oversee all aspects of the ongoing investigation.
Judge Schuck, who was appointed to the Delaware County bench in 2016, has not commented publicly on the allegations. Representatives for both sheriff’s offices declined to elaborate further, citing the active nature of the case.
The Ohio Supreme Court and the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas have not issued statements regarding Schuck’s current judicial duties or whether any administrative actions are pending.
The investigation remains ongoing, and more information is expected as the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office continues its review.
