Miami County voters have entered the final week of early in-person voting for the November 3, 2026 general election, and the Miami County Board of Elections is holding its longest early voting day of the season on Tuesday, October 27. According to the board, early voting takes place at the board office in the old county courthouse, 215 West Main Street in Troy, open Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The board asks voters to bring identification.
The extended schedule continues through the weekend, according to the board’s published hours. Voting runs from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28 through Friday, October 30, then from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. The final session is Sunday, November 1, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Early in-person voting then ends — there is no session on Monday, November 2.
Tuesday is also the deadline for voting by mail. Under the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule, absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. on October 27 — received, not simply mailed by that time. Non-military and non-overseas absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, to be counted, while military and overseas ballots must be received by November 7.
On November 3, Miami County voters will decide statewide races including Governor and Lieutenant Governor and Ohio Supreme Court seats, plus state legislative and court of appeals contests, county questions, and local levies and issues that vary by precinct, according to the sample ballots posted through the board. The board’s ballot display also notes it is conducting both a general election and a special election that day, so some voters will see a separate special election ballot. Voters can preview their precinct’s ballot through the board before voting.
Voters casting a ballot in person must show a valid, unexpired photo ID, according to the Ohio Secretary of State. Acceptable forms include an Ohio driver license, State of Ohio ID card, or interim BMV ID form; a U.S. passport or passport card; or a U.S. military, military dependent, Ohio National Guard, or Department of Veterans Affairs ID card. The board notes the closest parking for the Troy early vote center is on Short Street.
Anyone who does not vote early or by mail can vote on Election Day itself. The board states that polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at voters’ assigned precinct polling locations — not at the courthouse — and directs voters to its voter lookup tool to confirm their polling place.
What happens next is a tight final stretch: the absentee application window closes Tuesday night, early voting wraps up Sunday afternoon in Troy, and the remaining ballots are cast at precincts across Miami County on November 3, with results reported after polls close at 7:30 p.m. Voters with questions can contact the Miami County Board of Elections or check the Secretary of State’s voter lookup tools.
