Meigs County voters who want to cast a ballot ahead of Election Day can vote early in person this week at the Meigs County Board of Elections, 113 E Memorial Dr Ste A in Pomeroy, where hours run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, October 23, under the uniform statewide schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. The office is the county’s designated early voting location for the Tuesday, November 3, 2026 general election.
Early in-person voting in Ohio began on October 6, and Meigs County voters have been able to use the Pomeroy office throughout that period. Absentee voting by mail also began on October 6, while military and overseas voters began receiving ballots on September 18. The deadline to register to vote in this election was October 5, and that registration window has now closed.
Voting hours expand as Election Day approaches. The board office will be open Saturday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., then Monday, October 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, October 27, the office stays open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and that evening carries an important deadline: absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. on October 27.
The final stretch of early voting continues Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day. The office will then be open Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., giving working voters and weekend voters several options before the last early voting day ends.
Meigs County voters heading to the polls in this election will decide county offices and local issues on the November 3 ballot, along with statewide and other races appearing across Ohio. Board of elections guidance encourages voters to confirm their registration and review what is on their ballot before they travel to Pomeroy, so they arrive prepared and the lines move steadily for everyone.
Voters who prefer to vote by mail should plan around the deadlines as well. A non-military, non-overseas absentee ballot must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3 to be counted. Voters mailing a ballot close to Election Day risk missing that cutoff, and anyone unsure about timing can instead vote early in person at the board office or vote on Election Day itself.
For voters waiting until Election Day, polls across Meigs County and throughout Ohio will be open on Tuesday, November 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Until then, the Pomeroy board office at 113 E Memorial Dr Ste A remains the place to vote early, request information about an absentee ballot, and get answers from county elections staff about the November 3 election.
