Early in-person voting for the November 3 general election runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week at the Mahoning County Board of Elections in Youngstown, as the second full week of early voting continues across Ohio. Mahoning County voters can cast an early ballot at the board office at 345 Oak Hill Avenue, Entrance A, in Youngstown.
The hours follow the statewide early-voting schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. Voting is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays through Friday, October 23, then expands for the final stretch: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, longer weekday hours starting October 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1. There is no early in-person voting on Monday, November 2.
Voters who prefer to vote by mail are also working against a deadline. Absentee ballot applications must be received by the board of elections by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27. Under current Ohio law, voted absentee ballots from most voters must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, to be counted.
Mahoning County’s November 3 ballot includes the statewide races that every Ohio voter will decide, along with county and local races, judgeships and local issues in Youngstown and the county’s suburbs and townships. Voters can preview their specific ballot and confirm their registration through the Secretary of State’s voter tools and the county board before heading to vote.
This story is part of NewsForce247’s second round of county election coverage. An earlier story covered what is on Mahoning County’s November 3 ballot; this update covers the voting logistics as early voting moves into its final full week, with turnout building toward the extended hours of the last week of October.
For voters who wait until Election Day, polls across Mahoning County will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, at each voter’s assigned precinct polling place. Anyone unsure of a polling location can check with the board of elections in advance rather than on Election Day morning.
The Mahoning County Board of Elections office is at 345 Oak Hill Avenue, Entrance A, Youngstown, Ohio 44502. Voters with questions about early voting, absentee ballots or their registration can contact the board directly or use the Ohio Secretary of State’s statewide voter information line and website.
