Lucas County voters can cast an early in-person ballot from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, October 23, at the county Early Vote Center in Toledo, as voting for the November 3, 2026 general election moves into its final two weeks. The Lucas County Board of Elections runs early voting at 3737 W. Sylvania Ave., Entrance C, at the back of the building, in Toledo, ZIP 43623, the location listed for Lucas County in the Ohio Secretary of State’s early voting directory.

Early in-person voting in Ohio began October 6 under a uniform statewide schedule set by the Secretary of State. After this week’s 8-to-5 hours, the center opens Saturday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., then shifts to longer days in the final week: October 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., October 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and October 28 to 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voting continues October 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and ends November 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Voters who prefer to vote by mail face a nearer deadline. Under the Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule, absentee ballot applications must be received by the board of elections by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, to be counted, so voters mailing one late should allow time for delivery or return it in person.

Every Lucas County ballot starts with the statewide races: governor and lieutenant governor, U.S. senator, attorney general, auditor, secretary of state, treasurer, and two Ohio Supreme Court seats, plus statewide Issue 3, a proposed constitutional amendment that would require voters to present photo identification in order to vote. Those contests appear on the sample ballots the board has posted through the state’s voter lookup system.

Countywide, voters will also choose a county commissioner for a full term beginning January 1, 2027, and a county auditor, according to the board’s sample ballots. Issue 13 asks voters across the county to renew a tax levy for the operation and maintenance of Imagination Station, Toledo’s nonprofit science center, at a rate the county auditor estimates will collect about $1.34 million annually for five years. Ballots then vary by community, adding congressional, state legislative, judicial, school, library, and local issues depending on where a voter lives.

Because ballots differ by precinct, voters can preview their own sample ballot through the Ohio voter lookup for Lucas County, where they can also check their registration and find their Election Day polling place. Reviewing it in advance can shorten the trip, since the November ballot runs several pages.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, when Lucas County polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters who miss the early window vote at their assigned precinct that day, not at the Early Vote Center.
