Early in-person voting for the Nov. 3, 2026 general election is under way in Jackson County, and voters can cast a ballot this week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jackson County Board of Elections office in Jackson. The board office, at 25 E. South St., Suite B, Jackson, is the county’s only early in-person voting location, according to the board’s legal notice posted through the Ohio Secretary of State.
The weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. run Monday, Oct. 19 through Friday, Oct. 23 under the statewide early-voting schedule set by the Secretary of State. Voting continues Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving Jackson County residents who work during the week a weekend option before the final full week of early voting begins.
Hours expand in the final week. On Monday, Oct. 26, the board office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on Tuesday, Oct. 27, voting runs from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. That Tuesday is also an important deadline: boards of elections must receive absentee ballot applications by 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 27.
From Wednesday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Oct. 30, early voting runs from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day. The final weekend offers two more chances, with voting Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is no early in-person voting on Monday, Nov. 2, the day before Election Day.
Voters who plan to cast an early ballot should bring an approved photo ID with them to the board office. Precinct polling places do not open for early voting; they will open only on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for voters who choose to vote in person on the day itself.
Jackson County voters voting by mail should also note the return rule. Absentee ballots must be received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to count, and a postmark alone is not enough. Voters returning a ballot close to the deadline may want to allow extra time for delivery or return it in person to the board office rather than relying on the final days of mail service.
The Nov. 3 ballot in Jackson County includes contested races for the statehouse and for the appeals court, along with the statewide races and issues Ohio voters will decide this fall. Early voting allows residents to weigh those choices on a schedule that fits work and family obligations, rather than fitting everything into a single Election Day trip.
Residents with questions about their registration, their ballot, or early-voting hours can contact the Jackson County Board of Elections at its office on East South Street in Jackson. Election Day voting follows on Nov. 3, when polling places across the county open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
