Holmes County voters are in the final days of early in-person voting in Millersburg ahead of the Tuesday, Nov. 3 general election, with the Holmes County Board of Elections open Friday, Oct. 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at its office at 75 East Clinton Street, Suite 108, in Millersburg, according to the board and the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule.

Early voting continues through the weekend. The board is open Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 1 — the final day to vote early in person in Ohio — from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Secretary of State’s schedule. Voters who still hold an absentee ballot face a changed deadline this year. Under Ohio law, non-military absentee ballots must be in the board of elections’ hands by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted — there is no longer a post-Election Day grace period. The Columbus Dispatch reported that Secretary of State Frank LaRose said on Oct. 27 that it might already be too late to mail a ballot and have it arrive by the deadline, and voters can hand-deliver ballots to the board office in Millersburg instead.

On the county’s ballot, Holmes County voters will decide a renewal of the county’s 0.25 percent sales and use tax for five years for roads and bridges, according to The Daily Record’s Holmes County ballot preview. The preview also lists school and township issues across the county, including a Loudonville-Perrysville school income tax and bond issue, a Triway school income tax, and fire, roads and cemetery levies in several townships.

County offices on the ballot are largely uncontested in the general election, according to The Daily Record’s preview, which lists Dave Hall for county commissioner, Jackie McKee for county auditor and Richard L. Haun Jr. for sheriff. Voters will also decide statewide races for governor, attorney general, auditor, secretary of state, treasurer, two Ohio Supreme Court seats and U.S. senator, along with congressional, state legislative and appeals court races.

The board’s own schedule shows the work that follows Election Day: a provisional-ballot meeting on Thursday, Nov. 12 and the official canvass on Monday, Nov. 16, according to the Holmes County Board of Elections. Voters who need their polling place or ballot information can contact the board in Millersburg or check the Secretary of State’s voter tools before heading out.
