XENIA, Ohio — Greene County’s early voting window has closed, and voters who have not yet cast a ballot will head to their polling places on Tuesday, November 3, when polls across Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the general election.

Early in-person voting at the Greene County Board of Elections, 551 Ledbetter Road in Xenia, ran from October 6 through the final weekend before Election Day under the Ohio Secretary of State’s statewide schedule. Voters who still hold an absentee ballot should not mail it now: under Senate Bill 293, signed by Governor Mike DeWine in December 2025, non-military absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted — the old four-day grace period no longer exists, according to the Secretary of State’s voting schedule. Completed ballots can be delivered in person to the board office on Ledbetter Road.

One group of Greene County voters will cast ballots somewhere new on Tuesday. Central State University students who live on campus will vote at Xenia Grace Chapel, about six miles from campus, after the City of Xenia’s September 24 annexation of Central State’s main campus moved the students into a new precinct, WYSO reported.

Greene County Board of Elections Director Tracy Smith told WYSO that “Central State was in precinct 354, which is a township precinct,” and that his office had to get quick approval from its board and the Ohio Secretary of State to reassign the voters. Smith told WYSO the board has notified more than 617 Central State voters, and that a permanent fix is coming: “Next year, we’ll make a Xenia city precinct 324. That’ll be Central State’s precinct, brand new.”

Wilberforce University students are not affected and will still vote on their own campus, a Wilberforce spokesperson told Spectrum News, according to WYSO’s reporting. The Ohio Legislative Black Caucus is offering free rides to the polls, and Central State and its Greek organizations are coordinating transportation and ballot forums for students, WYSO reported.

On the countywide ballot, Greene County voters will decide the statewide races — governor, U.S. Senate, attorney general, auditor, secretary of state, treasurer, two Ohio Supreme Court seats and State Issue 3 — alongside their local races, levies and issues. Voters can confirm their polling location and review their sample ballot through the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter lookup tools before heading out.

What happens next: polls open Tuesday, November 3, at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.; anyone in line at closing time may still vote. Absentee ballots must be in the board of elections’ hands by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to count. Unofficial results will be posted by the Greene County Board of Elections and the Ohio Secretary of State after polls close.
