Gallia County voters enter the final days of early in-person voting in Gallipolis before the Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, general election, with the Gallia County Board of Elections at the Courthouse, 18 Locust St., 2nd Floor, serving as the county’s early-voting site, according to the board and the Ohio Secretary of State.
Early voting runs Friday, Oct. 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., under the statewide early-voting schedule published by the Ohio Secretary of State. There is no regular early voting on Monday, Nov. 2. The board’s regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the board can be reached at (740) 446-1600, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s county boards directory.
On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, polls in Gallia County are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., according to the Gallia County Board of Elections. Voters who are in line by 7:30 p.m. can vote, and voters can view their ballot ahead of time through the state’s voter lookup tools.
Absentee voters face a changed deadline this year. Under Ohio law, a non-military absentee ballot must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule; there is no longer a post-Election Day grace period for most ballots. Military and overseas ballots must be received by Nov. 7. The deadline to request an absentee ballot was 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 27, which has now passed.
The board’s office at the Courthouse, 18 Locust St., 2nd Floor, Gallipolis, OH 45631, is where Gallia County voters return absentee ballots and applications in person, according to the Gallia County Board of Elections. With the Election Day receipt deadline effectively here, the board and the Secretary of State direct voters still holding a completed ballot to return it in person rather than risk a late arrival by mail.
The voter registration deadline for this election was Oct. 5 at 9 p.m., according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule.
For Gallia County communities including Gallipolis, Rio Grande, Crown City, Cheshire and Centerville, the weekend hours are the last chance to vote early in person before Election Day. What happens next is Election Day itself on Tuesday, Nov. 3, when voting moves to precinct polling places across the county from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
