COSHOCTON, Ohio — Early in-person voting for the Nov. 3 general election continues this week in Coshocton County, with the Board of Elections taking ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday at its office at 724 S. 7th St., Room 100, in Coshocton.
This is the third week of early voting in Ohio. The Coshocton County Board of Elections’ published schedule for the Nov. 3 election lists weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 23, and the Ohio Secretary of State’s statewide voting calendar lists the same hours for every county board this week.
The schedule expands from here. The board will be open Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., then moves to longer days in the final week: Monday, Oct. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. A second Saturday session runs Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the final early-voting session is Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m. There is no early voting on Monday, Nov. 2.
Absentee voting by mail is running on the same calendar. Ballots have been mailed out since Oct. 6 for applications the board has received, and applications for a mailed ballot will be accepted until Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 8:30 p.m. That 8:30 p.m. deadline is also the last time to pick up a ballot in person to take home and vote.
Early ballots are cast at the board of elections office — not at a voter’s regular precinct. The precinct polling place on a voter card opens only on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, when polls across Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The voter registration deadline for this election was Monday, Oct. 5. Registrations and updates are still being accepted in person and online, the board notes, but they will be held for entry until after the election is certified, so they do not make a new voter eligible for the Nov. 3 ballot.
Coshocton County voters who want to cast a ballot this week can go to the Board of Elections, 724 S. 7th St., Room 100, Coshocton, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on any weekday. Voters still in line when a session is scheduled to end are allowed to vote.
