SPRINGFIELD — Early in-person voting for the November 3 general election continues this week in Clark County, with the Board of Elections office open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23. Voting takes place at the board office at 3130 E. Main Street in Springfield, according to the Clark County Board of Elections, and voters are asked to bring identification to the vote center.
This is the third week of early voting in Ohio, which opened statewide on October 6. Clark County voters who prefer a Saturday trip will get their first weekend option this week as well: the board will also be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. Hours expand further in the final week before Election Day.
On the Clark County ballot November 3, voters will decide a health district levy renewal and two seats on the Board of County Commissioners, along with statewide races, judicial contests and other local issues. Reviewing a sample ballot before arriving can speed up the visit, and the board’s website posts voting options and ballot information for the general election.
Voters who would rather cast a ballot by mail can still do so. The board says voters may use the Secretary of State’s absentee application, Form 11-A, and either mail it to the Clark County Board of Elections, P.O. Box 1766, Springfield, OH 45501-1766, or deposit it in the board’s drop box, which is available 24 hours a day. Ballots are mailed within one day of receipt of a valid application, the board says, and voters can track the status of an application or absentee ballot online.
Timing matters for mail voters in the home stretch. Under the statewide schedule published by the Ohio Secretary of State, absentee ballot applications must be received by county boards by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, and completed absentee ballots must reach the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3. Voters mailing a ballot back close to the deadline may instead return it in person to the board office to be sure it arrives on time.
Early in-person hours grow longer in the final week. The Clark County board will be open 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, and 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 28 through Friday, October 30. Weekend hours follow on Saturday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and early voting closes Sunday, November 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Anyone with questions can reach the Clark County Board of Elections at 937-521-2120 during regular office hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Voters who wait until Election Day will vote at their assigned neighborhood polling place, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, and can find that location through the board’s voter lookup tool.
