Bob Evans Restaurants, headquartered in New Albany, will offer veterans and active-duty military members a free meal all day on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, expanding a longtime tradition with its largest menu yet, the company announced Tuesday, Oct. 27, in a news release issued through GlobeNewswire.
The Veterans Day menu features 11 entrees served from breakfast through dinner, dine-in only, at all Bob Evans restaurants, according to the company’s announcement. The lineup ranges from morning staples to dinner plates, a change the company described as offering more choices from sunrise to supper than in past years.
Guests can choose one complimentary entree from the menu, which the announcement lists as the Country Biscuit Breakfast, the Classic Breakfast, Banana Berry Oatmeal, the Sunrise, the Mini Sampler, Brioche French Toast, a cup of sausage gravy and biscuits, buttermilk hotcakes, down-home country-fried steak, and a smaller portion of turkey and dressing, among the 11 selections.
"Our veterans deserve a warm meal and an even warmer welcome, and this year we wanted to go further," Mickey Mills, chief executive officer of Bob Evans Restaurants, said in the company’s announcement. "With more signature dishes from sunrise to supper, we’re proud to make this Veterans Day our best yet."
Every veteran and active-duty guest will also receive a thank-you offer redeemable for a free cup of Bob Evans signature sausage gravy and freshly baked biscuits on a future visit, according to the announcement, extending the gesture beyond the holiday itself.
Supporting veterans is a longtime commitment for the Ohio-born chain, whose founder, Bob Evans, was himself a veteran, the announcement noted. The company traces its roots to Evans making sausage on his Gallia County farm in 1948, and its headquarters remain in New Albany, northeast of Columbus.
