The nation’s largest light and art festival is back in the Queen City this week. BLINK Cincinnati returns for its fifth iteration Oct. 8–11, transforming downtown Cincinnati, Over-the-Rhine and Northern Kentucky into a four-night canvas of projection mapping, murals and interactive installations from more than 90 artists worldwide.
This year’s opening will look different: instead of the traditional parade, organizers are throwing a five-block party outside TQL Stadium in the West End on Oct. 8 from 4 to 9 p.m. The event features local DJ sets, hands-on light art stations, food vendors and a stage built over the stadium steps. At sundown, organizers will officially “turn the lights on,” followed by a drone and pyrotechnic show over the stadium and skyline.
More aerial spectacle follows: a “Dimensions of Wonder” drone show over the Ohio River will run twice nightly Oct. 9–11, at 8 and 10 p.m. The festival runs 7 to 11 p.m. each night and is completely free and open to the public. Organizers expect roughly 2 million visitors, many traveling from out of state or abroad.
New this year is an AI guide called “Blinky,” developed by Cincinnati-based Vurvey Labs, which helps attendees discover artists and installations and navigate the festival grounds. The 2026 edition also features the most women artists in the festival’s history, according to organizers.
