The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Tuesday, October 27, that they have placed tight end Erick All Jr. on the Reserve/Injured list and signed former Bengals tight end Cam Grandy off the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The moves reshape Cincinnati’s tight end room in the middle of the season, bringing back a familiar player while a hometown contributor faces another long recovery.
All, a former Fairfield High School standout, suffered a knee injury during the Bengals’ win over the Ravens in Baltimore, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported. The Enquirer reported that All had three catches for 26 yards before leaving the game during the Bengals’ second scoring drive, which resulted in a Tee Higgins touchdown catch from Joe Burrow. Bengals Wire reported on Tuesday that the team moved forward after further medical testing confirmed the injury, and Field Level Media reported that NFL Network said the injury is believed to be a torn ACL.
It is another difficult setback for All, who has a history of knee injuries. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, All tore his ACL in his surgically repaired right knee against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9 of the 2024 season and missed the entire 2025 season because of the injury. Field Level Media reported that he also missed the last seven games of his 2024 rookie season with the same injury.
All was selected by his hometown Bengals in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported. Field Level Media reported that he caught eight passes for 56 yards in six games this season, with one start, and has 28 catches for 214 yards in 15 games since Cincinnati drafted him. The Enquirer reported that he had 20 catches for 158 receiving yards as a rookie.
Grandy returns to a team that knows him well. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Grandy joined the Vikings in August after he was among the players the Bengals cut to finalize their 53-man roster, and he originally signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent after the 2024 NFL Draft. Field Level Media reported that Grandy, 25, played in 13 games, with seven starts, for Cincinnati from 2024-25, catching seven passes for 35 yards.
Head coach Zac Taylor explained the value of the reunion in comments reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer. “He (is) just somebody we can rely on, somebody we’ve got a lot of trust in,” Taylor told the Cincinnati Enquirer of Grandy. Taylor continued, in the Enquirer’s reporting: “So he’s kind of always been a guy we viewed as a roster guy and this year just didn’t work out and that was a really tough one for us. And so to get him back, I think is really critical because he’s somebody we’ve always felt like was a part of this thing and so happy to get him back and he’s gonna help us.”
The Bengals made two additional practice-squad moves on Tuesday, according to Field Level Media and Bengals Wire. Cincinnati signed tight end Caden Prieskorn to the practice squad and placed fellow tight end Josh Kattus on the practice squad injured list. With All now on injured reserve, Grandy’s return gives Cincinnati experienced depth at a position suddenly tested by injury, while All begins the recovery process from the latest knee injury of his young career.
