Auglaize County voters can cast an early in-person ballot from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday this week, Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23, at the Auglaize County Board of Elections office in Wapakoneta, The board lists the early voting location as its office at 209 S. Blackhoof St., Room 205, Wapakoneta, OH 45895, the county’s single early in-person voting site.
The board and the Ohio Secretary of State publish the same schedule for this week, and Auglaize County had not published a county-specific early turnout count on its board site as of Monday morning. Voters can call the board at 419-739-6720 with questions. Regular office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, but the early voting hours above control in-person balloting.
Weekend voting begins this coming Saturday. The board will be open Saturday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no early voting listed for Sunday, October 25, on either the county or the Secretary of State schedule. Hours then expand in the final week, starting Monday, October 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Tuesday, October 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Early voting continues Wednesday, October 28 through Friday, October 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., then Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. November 1 is the last day of early in-person voting, and there is no early voting on Monday, November 2. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, voters who have not already voted go to their assigned polling place, where polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Voters voting by mail face two separate deadlines. Absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, according to the Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule. Completed absentee ballots for most voters must then be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3. Military and overseas ballots are treated differently, with those ballots required to be received by November 7 to be counted, the Secretary of State notes.
That Election Day receipt deadline reflects a change under Senate Bill 293. The Legislative Service Commission’s final analysis says the law, effective March 20, 2026, requires regular absentee ballots returned by mail to be delivered by the close of polls at 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, eliminating the four-day grace period under prior law. A ballot postmarked before Election Day but arriving afterward will therefore not count for most voters, making an early mailing or in-person drop-off the safer options.
Before heading to Wapakoneta, voters can check their registration and preview their sample ballot through the Secretary of State’s lookup tools at VoteOhio.gov, entering their name and county. Anyone with questions about an absentee application, the early voting room, or an Election Day polling place can contact the Auglaize County Board of Elections at 419-739-6720 or at its office on South Blackhoof Street.
